Methodology
In Q1 2025, SlashData conducted an online survey for Google to explore developers' involvement in cloud operations, the resources organisations allocate to these operations, and the perceived potential for automation over the next two years. The analysis presented in this report is based on approximately 1,000 responses collected through this custom survey. The questions in this survey are specifically designed and co-created to address Google’s research and business objectives.
About this Report
This report explores cloud operations and management –covering activities such as architecture design, troubleshooting, maintenance, capacity management, security, and more– within organisations that have at least 50 employees involved in software development. The main objectives of this research are to quantify the time and costs associated with cloud operations for organisations, explore how frequently professionals engage in various cloud operations-related activities, and measure the perceived impact of AI on cloud operations over the next two years.
