Mobile software vendors (ISVs) who develop software for mobile handsets are competing in an increasingly crowded market; on-device software is being increasingly commoditised, channels to market and mobile operators are a challenge to deal with, and middlemen are always there to take a respectable revenue share. So what are the options for a mobile ISV who’s keen to upsell the value of their software assets ? Here I present a framework of five strategies that mobile ISVs can use.
